Junior Matt Finke played a big role in Mitchell's march through the 2019 NECC Men's Basketball Championship last week, averaging 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. In the first round against Southern Vermont he finished with 10 points and went 7-for-10 at the free throw line. He then poured in a career-high 22 points in an upset of top-seeded New England College in the semifinals, capping the night with a buzzer-beater in overtime that sent the Mariners to the finals. He shot 5-for-9 from three-point range in the contest and also handed out six assists. In the title game against Newbury he netted nine points and hit a big three in overtime to help the Mariners to their second conference title.
