      <description>ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Four Mitchell College student-athletes have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference for the winter/spring 2009 semester, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy.  Three Mitchell softball players, Lindsey Donelin, Kelly Reynolds, and Liz Roy as well as one men's basketball player, Mike DePaolo, were honored.</description>

      <description>NEW LONDON, Conn. - Two Mitchell College student-athletes have been selected to attend the 2009 NCAA Student-Athlete Development Conference May 24-27 in Orlando, Fla. at the Walt Disney World Coronado Spring Resort.  Mike DePaolo (Asbury, N.J.) of the men's basketball team and Kelly Reynolds (Waterford, Conn.), a softball player, were chosen to represent Mitchell College at the conference  which will have participants from all three NCAA divisions.</description>

      <description>Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Wheelock College men's basketball team survived a tremendous second half from Mitchell College to advance to the second round of the New England Collegiate Conference playoffs with a 105-91 win over the Mariners in front of a packed house at Pine Manor College Tuesday night. The Wildcats will travel to Chicopee Friday when the team takes on #1 seed Elms College at 6:00 pm, and the loss concludes the Mariners' season.</description>

      <title>Mitchell Men Earn #5 Seed in NECC Tournament</title>

      <description>ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Mitchell College has earned the #5 seed in the 2008-09 NECC (New England Collegiate Conference) tournament which starts on Tuesday, February 24th.  Elms College has claimed the top seed for the championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites.  The Blazers (24-1 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming NECC tournament after posting a perfect 14-0 conference record.  Elms is currently ranked 12th in the most recent D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.</description>

      <title>Mariners Fall to Becker in NECC Road Match-up, 83-69</title>

      <description>Leicester, Mass.- Becker College defeated Mitchell College 83-69 in New England Collegiate Conference men's basketball action.  In the first half, Becker and Mitchell exchanged the lead on six different occasions. After Mike DePaolo (Asbury, NJ) forced a turnover, Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored a layup, putting Mitchell ahead by six with just over twelve minutes remaining in the first half. The Mariners extended their lead to seven, before the Hawks went on a 6-0 run. The two teams went scoreless for the next two minutes, before Travis Suber (Springfield, Mass.) hit a jumper, putting Becker ahead by one. Becker had a four point lead, before Mitchell went on a 12-4 run to close the half.</description>

Junior Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) had 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds for Mitchell (8-14) which has lost four straight.</description>

      <description>NEW LONDON, CONN. - Mitchell College junior forward Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) was a scoring force for the Mariners, leading his team to a 2-1 NECC weekly record. Murray closed the week notching a double-double helping Mitchell defeat Lesley 78-52, pouring out another 25 point game and pulling down 11 boards.  Earlier in the week, he notched 16 points in a 92-82 win against Newbury, while shelling out 25 points in an 84-59 loss against Becker.  For the week, Murray shot 44% (26-for-59) from the field, 31% (4-for-13) from behind the arc and 83% (10-for-12) from the free-throw line.</description>

Junior forward Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) had a strong overall performance in the loss with 31 points, six rebounds, and six assists.</description>

      <description>NEW LONDON, CONN. - The Mitchell men lost on the road to Southern Vermont on Tuesday evening, 69-68.  The Mariners got a huge game in the paint from sophomore forward Jenel Russell (East Hampton, N.Y.), as he scored a game-high 30 points and hauled down 15 rebounds.</description>

      <description>NEW LONDON, CONN. -  Daniel Webster College defeated Mitchell, 80-76, in the conference opener for both teams this afternoon.  The Eagles were led to victory by Brian Inge (Fort Washington, Md.) and Chris Hanson (Salem, Mass.) who scored 25 and 24 points respectively.  In the loss for the Mariners, Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) put up big numbers with 34 points and 14 rebounds.</description>

      <description>NEW LONDON, CONN. - The Mitchell men's basketball team won a thriller at the buzzer in their 2008-09 home-opener against the Trailblazers of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Wednesday evening.  Mitchell inbounded the ball with less than four seconds to play in the game, and Jenel Russell (East Hampton, N.Y.) hit a lay-up as time expired for the 68-67 win.  The Mariners were led by Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) who just missed a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds.</description>

      <description>Mitchell had four players score double digits, with Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) leading the way with a game-high 26 points and 8 rebounds in a 84-82 road victory at CCNY on Monday evening.  Jenel Russell (East Hampton, N.Y.) had a strong performance in the paint with 21 points, 14 boards, and five blocks.  Mike DePaolo (Asbury, N.J) netted 16 points, while Josh Witt (New London, Conn.) played a solid all-around game with 13 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and only one turnover.</description>

      <description>QUINCY, MASS. - Green Mountain College defeated Mitchell College, 82-73, in the championship game of the Eastern Nazarene College Crusader Classic.  The Eagles had three players score in double-digits, and as a team shot 54.5% from the field.  The Mariners were led by sophomore post player Jenel Russell  (East Hampton, N.Y.)who scored 23 points, had seven rebounds, and four thefts in the loss.</description>

      <description>QUINCY, MASS. - The Mitchell College Mariners defeated the host Eastern Nazarene, 73-68, tonight in the first round of the Crusader Classic.  Mike DePaolo (Asbury, N.J.) and Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) each poured in 25 points to lead Mitchell to the victory.  DePaolo shot 5-6 from three point land, 4-4 from the free throw line and also pulled down five rebounds, while Murray also hauled in five boards.</description>

Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored 20 points for the second time this season in the losing effort and added six rebounds.  Fellow post player Pat Nielsen (Norwalk, Conn.) scored 14 points, while senior guard Josh Witt (New London, Conn.) contributed 10 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.</description>

      <description>WILLIMANTIC, CONN. - Mitchell beat New England College at the Eastern Connecticut Tip-Off Tournament,88-68, in the consolation game played on Saturday afternoon.  The Mariners were paced by Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Mike DePaolo (Asbury, N.J.) who combined for 49 points in the win.  Murray also pulled down six rebounds and went a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line.  Sophomore Jenel Russell (East Hampton, N.Y.) had another strong performance in the post scoring 14 points and grabbing eight rebounds.</description>
