Men’s Tennis Continues Winning Ways With Victory Over Newbury
NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Mitchell College men's tennis team dominated Newbury College, 9-0, this afternoon in a home conference match. Kyle Carmona (Norwich, Conn.) won the #1 singles match (6-0, 6-1) and also helped pick up the #1 doubles victory (8-0) with partner Andrew Small (Westerly, R.I.).
Mitchell won all six singles matches and all three doubles slots to earn all nine points. Tyler Engleberg (Niantic, Conn.) beat Matt O'Donnell (Vernon, Conn.) at the #2 singles slot (6-0, 7-5), while Chris White (Marshfield, Mass.) defeated Ben Weiner (Barrington, R.I.), 6-2, 6-3. Dan Dworetsky (Glastonbury, Conn.), Adam Samuels (New Rochelle, N.Y.), and Small rounded out the singles play and were all victorious.
White and Samuels combined at the #3 doubles slot and won 8-0, while Dworetsky and Engleberg teamed up to earn the #2 doubles win, 8-0.
Mitchell is back in action on Tuesday, April 7th, when they travel to Becker College.
