Men's Tennis Trio Earns NECC Postseason Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Three members of the Mitchell College men's tennis team were honored by the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday morning.
Sophomore Graham Cavanaugh was named to the NECC All-Conference First Team in singles while senior Zachary Simmons and freshman Orson Sinclair each garnered all-conference honorable mention accolades. All awards were determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches.
Cavanaugh received first team singles honors for the second straight season. He posted a 5-3 singles record in league play while holding down the No. 2 position for the Mariners. Simmons went 4-4 at the top singles spot while Sinclair (8-2) recorded the most singles victories of any Mitchell player in NECC action.
Mitchell (8-5 overall, 6-4 NECC) finished third in the conference regular season standings and qualified for the NECC Championship for the sixth straight season. The Mariners were eliminated by Newbury College in the semifinals of the tournament by a 6-3 final.
