Men’s Tennis Rolls Over Newbury and Remains Unbeaten
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Mitchell College men's tennis team defeated Newbury and remained undefeated over host Newbury College in Chestnut Hill this afternoon by the score of 9-0. The Mariners took control early, sweeping the Nighthawks in doubles play, and then controlling the tempo in singles play for the impressive victory.
Kyle Carmona (Norwich, Conn.) won his #1 singles match, and Tyler Engleberg (Niantic, Conn.) was victorious in the #2 singles position. Sam Mahar (Hoosick, N.Y.), Daniel Dworetsky (Glastonbury, Conn.), Chris White (Marshfield, Mass.), and Adam Samuels (New Rochelle, N.Y.) rounded out the other singles matches with wins.
The Mariners are 6-0 overall and 4-0 in NECC play, and they are back on the courts on Tuesday, April 21st when they host NECC opponent Becker College at 3:00 pm.
