Volleyball's DeLoach Earns All-Conference Honors

Volleyball's DeLoach Earns All-Conference Honors

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Olivia DeLoach was one of 12 players who received all-conference recognition from the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday afternoon as the league announced its annual awards.

DeLoach landed a spot on the all-conference second team, becoming just the second Mitchell rookie earn all-conference honors. Junior Laurissa Amaker also represented the Mariners as a selection to the Del Malloy Sportsmanship Team. All awards are determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches.

DeLoach played in 22 matches and made 15 starts in the regular season while averaging a team-high 2.49 kills per set. In league action that number jumped to 3.00, and she ranks among the conference leaders in both kills per set (8th) and digs per set (11th). A well-rounded player who hardly leaves the court, she also ranks second on the Mariners in digs (218) and third in service aces (40).

Amaker, a team co-captain, played in 20 matches during the regular season and recorded 47 kills and 38 digs.

Mitchell (13-11 overall, 4-3 NECC) will next host fifth-seeded Becker College in the first round of the NECC Championship on Tuesday, November 5 at 7 p.m.
