DANBURY, Conn. -- The Mitchell College women's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 loss to Western Connecticut State University on Friday evening in non-conference action at Feldman Arena.
The Colonials triumphed by set scores of 25-10, 25-16 and 25-19 to improve to 21-6 overall. Victoria Korzan led all players with nine kills and added seven digs. Mitchell, which was paced by Brianna Ley's seven kills, dropped to 13-11 on the year. Stephanie Costabile posted a match-high eight digs and chipped in a pair of service aces.
The Mariners now await this weekend's announcement of the field for the 2019 New England Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball Championship. Mitchell has clinched the fourth seed and will host a tournament game for the first time in school history. The first round of the tournament is slated for Tuesday, November 5.
