Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Regis in Season Opener
WESTON, Mass. – The Mitchell College women's lacrosse team opened its 2026 campaign with a 20–1 loss at Regis College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday evening at Regis Stadium.
The Pride controlled the game from the outset, scoring five goals in the first quarter and adding seven more in the second to take a 12–0 lead into halftime.
Regis extended its advantage in the third quarter before Mitchell broke through at the 11:04 mark, when senior Lauren Cordero (Selden, N.Y.) netted an unassisted goal for the Mariners' first tally of the season.
The Pride closed out the contest with four goals in the final quarter to secure the conference victory.
Cordero led Mitchell offensively with a goal on four shots and three draw controls. Junior Chloe Jennings (New London, Conn.) added a shot and two draw controls while scooping up one ground ball and causing one turnover. The Mariners finished with eight draw controls and five ground balls in the contest.
In goal, Arrianna Stark (Schenectady, N.Y.) made eight saves while facing 37 shots.
Regis was led by Serenity Ayala, who scored five goals, while Audrey Mason, Maddie Sainato, and Melinda Carbone each added three goals.
The Mariners (0–1, 0–1 GNAC) return to action in their home opener against the University of Maine at Farmington on Thursday, March 19, at 3:00 p.m.
