Volleyball Wins Season Opener at Albertus Magnus
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Mitchell College volleyball team opened the
2010 season with a hard-fought 3-2 victory at Albertus Magnus
College on Wednesday night.
The Mariners (1-0 overall) took the match by final scores of
22-25, 25-22, 18-25, 26-24 and 15-13. Senior Stephanie
McKeon led the team with 15 kills and added five digs while
classmate Jen
Bordonaro handed out 17 assists and finished with six kills,
four aces and a block assist. Junior Brittany
Zaccaria chipped in with four kills, three aces and seven digs
in a solid all-around effort.
Mitchell returns to action with a tri-match at home on Saturday,
September 11 against Mt. St. Mary (12 p.m.) and Curry (4 p.m.).
