Wiley Tabbed NECC Player of the Week
MANSFIELD, Mass. -- Mitchell College senior Amina Wiley was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the sport of women's basketball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
Wiley earns the honor for the fourth time this season (Nov. 8, 15, Jan. 24). She averaged team highs of 25.0 points and 10.5 rebounds last week while leading the Mariners to a 1-1 record. She shot 73 percent from the floor for the week and averaged 30.5 minutes per contest.
Wiley finished with game highs of 28 points and 10 rebounds in a 76-47 road win against Maine-Farmington, shooting 13-for-17 from the floor. She also paced the Mariners with 22 points, 11 rebounds and three steals in a loss at Eastern Nazarene.
Wiley has played in 17 games this season and leads the NECC in scoring (17.8), rebounding (10.6) and field goal percentage (.588). Her 10 double-doubles in 2021-22 give her 45 for her career, tying for fourth-most among active Division III players.
Mitchell (8-11 overall, 0-2 NECC) will next play at New England College on Saturday, February 12 at 1 p.m.
