LAX's Perry Earns NECC Rookie Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Chevy Perry was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's lacrosse, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
Perry scooped up four ground balls and caused three turnovers on the defensive end last week for the Mariners. His efforts in the second half in a win at Regis College helped the Mariners secure the top seed in the upcoming NECC Championship. Mitchell killed off all three penalties in the second half against the Pride and allowed only one man-up goal in five total chances.
Perry has started all 12 games for the Mariners this season and has recorded a goal and an assist to go with 10 caused turnovers and 18 ground balls.
Mitchell (5-7 overall, 3-0 NECC) will next play at Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
