FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team suffered a 29-3 defeat at the hands of Dean College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday afternoon at the Longley Athletic Complex.
Sophomore Nathan Mahoney (Stonington, Conn.) scored a pair of goals for Mitchell bringing his season total to four, while senior Jon Parra-Tobey (New London, Conn.) found the back of the net for the first time this spring.
The Bulldogs opened the game with a goal 15 seconds in, and Mahoney answered back to tie the score at 1-1 with 41 seconds gone by. The Mariners were unable to generate any more offense until Mahoney's second goal with 3:59 remaining in the half made it 14-2 in favor of Dean. Senior Keeano Gonzalez (New London, Conn.) scooped up a team-high six ground balls for Mitchell, while sophomore goalie Cameron Haefs (Cary, Ill.) turned away 14 shots.
The Bulldogs deployed a balanced offensive attack with 16 different players scoring at least one goal. Dean outshot Mitchell 65-11.
