BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women's soccer team shut out Mitchell College 6-0 on Wednesday night in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match at Roberto Clemente Field.
The Saints wasted no time in jumping ahead, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes of the game and five times in the opening half, paced by a pair of goals by Eva Simmons. Sarah Dullaghan, Jamily Chaves, and Hailey Goodman added goals in the opening stanza, while Liz McCormick pushed the Emmanuel lead to 6-0 with a tally in the 65th minute of action.
Gemma Landry (Lewiston, ME) turned away 22 shots in net for the Mariners, marking the seventh time this fall the senior has recorded double-digit saves.
After a two-game road trip, the Mariners (0-9, 0-9 GNAC) return home for to face New England College in a conference matchup on Saturday, October 12, at 4:00 pm. The Saints (10-2-1, 7-2-1 GNAC) play next on Wednesday, October 16, at Simmons University.
