Sophomore midfielder Diego Chavez (Meriden, Conn.) quickly followed with his second goal of the season in the 23rd minute, and Gabe Ansani added another unassisted tally at 24:50 to put the Mariners ahead 3-0. The Cougars responded in the 28th minute with a goal from Angel Valerio, but Mitchell quickly regained control as senior forward Flavio Alvarado (New London, Conn.) scored less than a minute later.
